National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova will attend Friday the commemoration of the 1160th anniversary of the Christianization of the Bulgarian people and the 1170th anniversary of the creation of the Bulgarian alphabet in Pliska, Parliament's press office said on Thursday. The celebration of the two anniversaries will be organized by the Varna and Veliko Preslav Diocese in the period from May 1 to 3.

The 1876 Bulgarian April Uprising against the Ottoman Empire precipitated the 1877-1878 Russo-Turkish War that led to Bulgaria's liberation.
