Twenty-eight Illegal Migrants Detained on Train in Southern City of Plovdiv

March 17 (BTA) - Twenty-seven illegal migrants were found on a train at a railway station in the southern city of  Plovdiv, the Bulgarian National radio said on Sunday.

The train was travelling from Turkey to Bulgaria, via Svilengrad (on the border with Turkey) to Sofia.

The migrants, who identified themselves as Syrians, were eight  men, eleven women, and eight children.  The migrants will be placed in a migration camp.

The investigation on how they came aboard the train continues, the Bulgarian National Radio said. LN/ZH
