1,078 New Cases of COVID-19 Registered in Bulgaria, Positivity Rate at 6.5%

Sofia, May 11 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in
Bulgaria reached 411,280 after 16,392 tests identified 1,078 new
 infections on Monday, May 10, according to data posted on
https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate for the day
was 6.5 per cent.

Sofia City tops the list of new COVID-19 cases with 205 positive
 tests, followed by Plovdiv Region (116) and Stara Zagora Region
 (100). Sofia City also has the highest number of infections
since the beginning of the pandemic, at 107,569, followed by the
 regions of Plovdiv (35,858), Varna (30,689), Bourgas (26,931),
Blagoevgrad (18,175) and Stara Zagora (17,415).

The active cases are 42,838. Currently, the hospitalized
patients number 5,571, including 555 in intensive care. The
medical staff infected since day one of the pandemic have
reached 13,273, including 3,820 doctors, 4,502 nurses and 2,209
orderlies.

Another 3,005 COVID-19 patients recovered on Monday, bringing
the total to 351,397. The total death toll since the start of
the pandemic surpassed the 17,000 mark, reaching 17,045.

With 25,485 new inoculations on Monday, the total number of
vaccine doses administered so far reached 963,539. A total of
