Six Light Quakes Registered in Smolyan Region

May 13 (BTA) - Six light quakes were registered in
Smolyan Region (Southern Bulgaria) on May 12 and 13, the
National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography with the
 Bulgarian Academy of Sciences said on Thursday.

The strongest of the six, a magnitude 2.9 quake on the Richter
scale, struck at 01:20 am local time on Thursday, 9.1 km
northeast of the town of Dospat and 137 km southeast of Sofia.
There are no reports indicating that the quakes were felt in
Bulgarian territory. RI/DD
