National Health Insurance Fund to Continue Providing Resources for Work in Epidemic Conditions

Sofia, May 19 (BTA) - The National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF)
will continue providing its contract partners with resources for
work in unfavourable conditions in view of the state of
epidemic emergency in force until May 31, the NHIF press service
said Wednesday. An extension of the period for which such
resources will be provided, is envisaged in draft amendments to
the methods for determining the sums paid by the NHIF to
providers of health care, dental care and medical diagnostics.
The draft revisions have been coordinated with the Bulgarian
Medical Union.

The resources are meant to fund the additional remunerations of
medical and non-medical personnel involved directly in the
monitoring, diagnosing and treatment of COVID-19 patients in
medical treatment facilities for hospital care and complex
oncology centres. The aim is to keep motivated the personnel
facing the challenges in the fight against the pandemic.

General practitioners refusing to inoculate against COVID-19 any
of their interested patients, will not be entitled to resources
for work in unfavourable conditions in view of the state of
epidemic emergency in Bulgaria, the press release reads.
