Russia Declares Bulgarian Diplomat Persona Non Grata

Sofia, May 26 (BTA) - Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry said its Ambassador in Moscow, Atanas Krastin, was summoned by the Russian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday to be informed that a diplomat at the Bulgarian Embassy had been declared a persona non grata.
Moscow said it was reciprocating Sofia's declaring a diplomat at the Russian Embassy persona non grata for actions incompatible with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations on April 29. That was the latest in a series of expulsions of Russian diplomats from Bulgaria, after two in March 2021, one in December 2020, and two in September 2020. RY/DD
