NRA Establishes Financial Irregularities at Border Crossings on Bulgarian-Turkish Border

Kapitan Andreevo, June 5 (BTA) - Financial irregularities,
resulting in losses for dozens of millions of leva, have been
established by the National Revenue Agency (NRA) at the border
crossings on the Bulgarian-Turkish border: Kapitan Andreevo,
Lesovo and Malko Tarnovo, NRA Executive Director Rumen Spetsov
told a news briefing on Saturday. Spetsov arrived at Kapitan
Andreevo to inspect the situation.

The operation by NRA and the State Agency for National Security
(SANS) began several days ago. According to Spetsov, some of the
cash registers along the disinfection route were not linked to
the NRA. He said that losses to the budget amount to dozens of
millions of leva.

"On average a thousand trucks pass and as many cars and buses
and least half of these are not reported," said Spetsov.

Spetsov said that fines could run in the tens of thousands of
leva. Currently a comprehensive check of the company which
services the cash registers at the border crossings is underway.
