Caretaker Prime Minister Stefan Yanev: TPP Maritsa East 2 Will Not Shut Down, but Will Operate at Minimum Capacity

June 26 (BTA) - Caretaker Prime Minister Stefan Yanev said on Saturday in the village of Sredno Gradishte, Chirpan municipality, that Maritsa East 2 TPP would not shut down, but would operate at minimum capacity.

Yanev explained that the state cannot fully support the TPP, adding that the plant's management must look for market principles.

The caretaker Prime Minister compared the work balance of TPP Maritsa East - 2 and the price of electricity in Bulgaria to a moving target, sometimes favourable and sometimes not. According to him, no solution can be found in two weeks or two months.

''We will also look for a solution in the Recovery and Resilience Plan,'' Yanev said.

The new parliament will pass a new Budget Act, he added. RI/DT
