President Rumen Radev: Japanese Ivestments Are an Opportunity for Development of Qualitatively New Model of Business Relations in Bulgaria
Sofia, July 14 (BTA) - The increase in Japanese investments in
Bulgaria is an opportunity for the development of a
qualitatively new model of relations between business and
institutions and business and society, as well as for changing
the economic environment in this country, said President Rumen
Radev, who received on Wednesday. representatives of the
Japan-Bulgaria Business Association (JBBA), Radev's press office
reported.
The meeting was attended by Japanese Ambassador to Bulgaria
Hiroshi Narahira.
The head of State highlighted the consistent actions of the
presidential institution to achieve new dynamics in the economic
and investment partnership between Bulgaria and Japan.
President Radev held a number of meetings with Japanese
businesses and institutions during his visit to Japan in 2019 on
the occasion of the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito. In 2020,
at a meeting to promote investment cooperation between Bulgaria
and Japan, hosted by the Bulgarian President, the initiative to
establish the Japan-Bulgaria Business Association was presented,
reminded the Presidential Press Secretariat.
Rumen Radev noted the huge untapped potential in the relations
between Bulgaria and Japan. The head of State also promoted
Bulgaria's advantages for attracting investments: geostrategic
location, stable macroeconomic indicators and high-quality human
capital.
Ambassador Narahira welcomed the priority set by the Bulgarian
head of State for enhanced cooperation in the field of science,
education and innovation within the framework of the Three Seas
Initiative.
Japanese companies are interested in investing in regional
projects in the field of "smart" transport, energy and digital
connectivity in Eastern Europe.
During the conversation, Ambassador Narahira noted the
dynamically developing startup ecosystem in Bulgaria and the
tendency of young Bulgarians to return with their ideas and
business plans to implement in their country. The Ambassador of
Japan has invited Bulgarian companies to participate in the
International Exhibition, which is to be held in 2025 in Osaka.
