New Bulgarian Parliament: There is Such a People Party Expects Bulgaria to Have Government within Two Weeks
Sofia, July 21 (BTA) - Addressing the new Bulgarian Parliament
during its inaugural meeting Wednesday, There is Such a People
(TISP) party deputy leader Toshko Yordanov said that Bulgaria
should have a government in the next 15 days, if politicians
deliver on their promise to work for a change and not for
offices.
TISP has the largest group, of 65 deputies, in this Parliament.
"provided that the pledges [of politicians] for a change in this
country, and not for positions, are true".
Yordanov said that upon receiving a mandate to form a
government, TISP will propose a line-up and hold talks on the
policies and the direction Bulgaria should go. "I do not think
that we have major differences with most of the parties, neither
regarding the question of the Prosecutor General, nor the
judicial reform, nor the humiliating pensions of our parents,"
Yordanov said.
"In the nest 14-15 days, provided that politicians make good of
their promises to work for a change and not for positions, we
should have a government that would continue the work started by
the caretaker government because this is the direction our
country should be going," said Yordanov.
He added that if it does not happen, another snap election is
much likely.
"In the next 10-15 days it will become clear if we can work
together for the things we have declared we want to do [...] or
we will go to elections again. There is nothing wrong or
undemocratic, if things come to that," Yordanov said. ZH/LN
