Air Pistol Shooter Kostadinova Brings Bulgaria First Medal in Tokyo 2020 Olympics

July 25 (BTA) - Bulgaria's Antoaneta Kostadinova won the silver in Sunday's 10 m air pistol women's final, thus bringing Bulgaria its first medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and the country's first medal in shooting sports since the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics. She came second with a score of 239.4.

The gold went to Vitalina Batsarashkina (Russian Olympic Committee) with 240.3 points and the bronze, to Ranxin Jiang (China) with 218.0 points.

Bulgaria's other athlete in this sports discipline, Maria Grozdeva, came 43rd in the qualification.

Youth and Sports Minister Andrey Kuzmanov congratulated Kostadinova on her big success after applauding her from the stand of the Asaka Shooting Range. He also congratulated the Bulgarian shooting sports delegation and wished success in the next shooting events.

Kostadinova and Grozdeva will also compete in the 25 m shooting event on July 29 and 30.
