Parties' Expert Groups Discuss Priorities, Cabinet Lineup Expected This Week
Sofia, July 26 (BTA) - Expert groups of the parliamentary forces
except GERB-UDF discussed priorities of social and budget
policy and of justice on Monday. The consultations are part of
talks on the formation of a new cabinet, which started last
week. The consultations are held at the invitation of the There
Is Such a People (TISP) party.
Radostin Vassilev from TISP told reporters he expects the
cabinet lineup to be ready by the end of the week. Asked if he
expects the President to hand TISP a cabinet-forming mandate by
the end of the week, Vassilev said this is a prerogative of the
head of State. "When he presents it, we are ready, I suppose we
are ready," he added.
After the meeting between TISP and Democratic Bulgaria devoted
to justice, Nadezhda Yordanova told reporters that the two
parties concur on the judicial reform, with certain nuances
regarding aspects of the Supreme Judicial Council, the
Prosecutors Chamber, the mechanism of electing the Prosecutor
General, and the magistrates' status after the closure of the
specialized courts and specialized prosecution offices.
Yordanova added that talks with TISP on various topics will
continue.
The meeting between TISP and Rise Up BG! Here We Come! was
attended by Rise Up! leader Maya Manolova and MPs Dimitar
Delchev and Nikolay Hadzhigenov. Afterwards, Hadzhigenov told
reporters that judging by the talks on the justice reform alone,
a government will be formed. In this area, the two formations'
programmes overlap at 95 per cent and there are small details to
be cleared, he specified, adding that this will become clear at
trilateral talks to be held next week.
