TISP Present Draft Cabinet Line-up to Rise Up BG!,Democratic Bulgaria and Socialists
August 3 (BTA) - Conferring seperately with Rise Up BG! Here We Come!, Democratic Bulgaria (DB) and the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) here on Tuesday, There Is Such a People (TISP), which is the largest group in the new Bulgarian Parliament, presented their proposals for a line-up and composition of a Council of Ministers. The delegations of all three coalitions said that they are yet to discuss the information they received.
None of the parties would disclose to the press the composition of the proposed government. A list of ministerial nominations appeared in some media outlets but its veracity has not been confirmed.
The only confirmation journalists had was that Peter Iliev, the Justice Minister designate in an earlier government proposal of TISP, which was later abandoned, is now designated for Interior Minister. Reporters learnt that from Vladislav Panov, co-leader of Democratic Bulgaria.
Emerging from the meeting, Rise Up! Floor Leader Maya Manolova (pictured)
said that her parliamentary group will meet to discuss the
nominations. They will decide whether to support the
proposal when it is put to a plenary vote before the completion
of the parliamentary procedure.
With 13 MPs, Rise Up BG! Here We Come! is the smallest group in
the 240-seat parliament.
To be voted through, a cabinet must be supported by more than half of the MPs present.
DB's Vladislav Panev told the press after the meeting that "if there are strong enough arguments, DB will support this government but I donТt think the chances at this stage are more than 50 per cent."
He reiterated that DB expects to be offered by TISP a written documents but said the matter was not discussed. In the coming days it will become clear whether they will be an agreement, he added. MORE///
