Road Construction Workers Stage Protest in Sofia over Delayed Wages
Sofia, September 10 (BTA) - Workers employed by road construction companies are protesting and blocked traffic in front of Parliament over delayed payment of wages. The protesters are waring yellow vests and carrying signs that read "We want our money, we won'g give up!", "We're no politican chewing gum", etc.
Bulgarian Branch Chamber Roads board member Georgi Kyuchukov told journalists that the State's delayed payments to road construction companies for workd done this year add up to 800 million leva. Workers said that they have not received their wages for three to five months now. Kyucgukov said that at least 3,000 people employed in the road construction sector are expected to join the protest.
