Eurostat: Romania and Bulgaria Have EU's Lowest Per Person R&D Allocation

Brussels, September 15 (BTA) - In 2020 the total government budget allocations for R&D across the EU stood at 100,786 million euro, equivalent to 0.8 per cent of GDP, Eurostat reported on Wednesday.

The total budget allocation for R&D per person stood at 225 euro, which is an increase of 22 per cent compared with 2010 (184 euro per person)

The lowest budget R&D allocations per person were recorded in Romania (19 euro), Bulgaria (21 euro), Hungary (39 euro) and Latvia (42 euro). The highest allocations were recorded in Luxembourg (648 euro), Denmark (519 euro) and Germany (443 euro) MY/PP
