Harmonised Indices of Consumer Prices  Increase by 2.5% in August, 2021

October 4 (BTA) - In August 2021, The Harmonised Indices
of Consumer Prices (HICP) increased by 2.5 per cent compared to
the same month in 2020, according to data from the National
Statistical Institute on key indicators for Bulgaria as of
October 4. The largest increase in prices was registered in the
transport (10.3 per cent). The largest decrease in prices was
reported in restaurants and hotels (by 3.9 per cent).

    In the second quarter of 2021, the housing price index
increased by 9.1 per cent compared to the same quarter of 2020.

    The producer price index on the domestic market in August
2021 increased by 17.2 per cent compared to the same month in
2020. An increase in prices was registered in the production and
 distribution of electricity and heat and gas - by 27 per cent,
in the mining and quarrying industry - by 19.3 per cent, and in
the manufacturing industry - by 11.2 per cent. RY/DT
