COVID-19 Update: 2,866 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 11.4%
Sofia, October 6 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 511,666, after 25,165 tests identified 2,866 new infections on Monday, 87.40 per cent of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 11.4 per cent.
Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 624 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 253 cases and Varna Region with 236.
The active cases are 47,858. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,223, including 460 in intensive care. Of the 686 new hospital admissions, 91.40 per cent were not vaccinated.
The infected medical staff have reached 14,643, including 4,123 doctors, 4,934 nurses and 2,499 orderlies.
Another 2,029 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 442,488.
One hundred and four fatalities were reported (96.15 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 21,320.
With 7,412 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 2,563,069 vaccine doses have been administered so far and 1,345,602 people are fully vaccinated. LG//
