Over 2 Mln COVID-19 Certificates Downloaded by Bulgarians

October 30 (BTA) - The total number of COVID-19
certificated downloaded from the National Health Information
System has exceeded two million, the Ministry of Transport,
Information Technology and Communications reported here on
Saturday. The certficiate-generating system was launched on June
 1, 2021.

The data were officially presented to caretaker Transport,
Information Technology and Communications Minister Hristo
Aleksiev by the head of Information Services AD, Ivaylo Filipov.

Filipov said that over 30 per cent of Bulgarians already have
and are using a COVID-19 certificate, which grants them access
to public places for which anti-epidemic restrictions are in
force.

The system has generated some 5.56 million certificates, of
which around 1.5 million are for people who are fully
vaccinated. Close to 17,000 certificates have been issued to
people who have received a booster dose of the vaccine. Over
60,000 certificates were generated for people who have recovered
from COVID-19, as proven by a positive antigen test.

Starting Friday, the Bulgarian COVID CHECK BG application,
developed by Information Services AD, can be used to scan the
certificates of people who have recovered from COVID-19, as
proven by an antigen test. This was made possible after Google
approved the application's latest version. It can be used to
scan the certificates of people visiting restaurants, bars,
cinemas, sports events, etc. The Bulgarian application has been
downloaded over 100,000 times from Google Play. RY/MY
