Opening Demographic Resilience Conference, President Radev Speaks of Need of Long-term Vision to Ensure Sustainable Solutions to Challenges
Sofia, December 1 (BTA) - Addressing the opening of a demographic resilience conference in Sofia Wednesday, President Rumen Radev spoke of a need to have a clear long-term vision to ensure just and sustainable solutions to the demographic problems. The two-day forum is organized by the Bulgarian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and of Labour, and UNFPA's Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Office, and is held under Radev's auspices.
The President said the core of the vision that is needed is strong economy, employment, quality education and health care services with special attention to children, older people and disabled people, said the President.
He spoke of the unprecedented global demographic crisis with many countries in Europe, including Bulgaria, and Central Asia facing the chellenges of their ageing population. MORE/////
