Economy Minister Vezieva Confers with Egypt's Public Business Sector Minister Hisham Tawfiq
Sofia, December 2 (BTA) - Caretaker Economy Minister Daniela Vezieva has conferred with Egypt's Public Business Sector Minister Hisham Tawfiq in Cairo, Vezieva's Ministry reported on Thursday.
The two have discussed opportunities to open the Egyptian market for Bulgarian goods, among other topics. Vezieva noted that Bulgaria can offer expertise in the fields of pharmacy, the food industry, organic farming and manufacturing of electric buses and vans. She also said that Bulgarian companies are interested in exporting products relevant to the above-mentioned sectors.
The two have also discussed cooperation in agriculture related to new organic farming technologies. The Bulgarian Economy Minister noted the existence of very good opportunities for cooperation in the processing industry, machine building and food production. She also stressed that Bulgaria has exceptional specialists in the IT sector and it can offer technological and software solutions.
Vezieva and Hisham Tawfiq have agreed that there is a huge potential for the development of trade, which can surpass its pre-pandemic level in the coming years. The possibility for Bulgaria to export meat and agricultural products to Egypt was also discussed.
Vezieva was introduced to the opportunities for Bulgarian export-oriented companies offered by the Suez Canal Economic Zone during a meeting with its CEO Walid Gamal El-Din. The Bulgarian Minister stressed the importance to establish lasting business relations with this zone. DD/MY
