18-year-old Laetitia Hahn to Play Mozart with Sofia Philharmonic
December 9 (BTA) - 18-year-old pianist Laeitia Hahn, who has been dubbed a child prodigy, will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 19 with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of maestro Friedrich Pfeiffer. The event will take place on December 16, the orchestra said in a press release here on Thursday.
Hahn started playing the piano at the age of two. She started school at four, skipping four grades. In 2011, Hahn debuted with a 60-minute solo concert and at nine she performed at the Leipzig Gewandhaus. At the age of ten she made her solo piano debut with a 90-minute programme and in the same year she made her orchestra debut with Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2.
In the summer of 2016, at the age of twelve, Hahn started her bachelor's degree in music at the Royal Conservatory in Belgium. She conducted for the first time at the age of fifteen. In July 2018, her composition for piano and orchestra won first prize at a competition in Saint Petersburg.
Laetitia Hahn is a Young Ambassador of the Belgian National Symphony Orchestra since 2020. RY/KK
