COVID-19 Update: 1,073 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 4%
Sofia, December 12 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 714,156, after 26,827 tests identified 1,073 new infections on Saturday, 81 per cent of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 4 per cent.
Sofia tops the list of new cases with 291 positive tests, followed by Varna with 113 cases and Burgas with 105.
The active cases are 97,544. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,284, including 627 in intensive care. Of the 145 hospital admissions, 89 per cent were unvaccinated.
Another 918 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 587,126.
Twenty-seven fatalities were reported (85 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 29,486.
With 5,989 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 3,490,637 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 1,838,105 people are fully vaccinated, and 168,438 have received a booster jab.
