World Famous Kaval Player Theodosii Spassov to Present New Album with Vocals
December 14 (BTA) - The world famous kaval player Theodosii Spassov will present his new album, entitled "Theodosii Spassov Sings", at an event in Sofia Live Club on December 16, the organizers said.
Spassov is a popular jazz musician, who plays the kaval, a traditional Bulgarian flute. He has developed his own unique playing style. His performances are an unusual synthesis of traditional folklore, jazz and classical music.
Spassov's new album includes nine of his vocal performances, sung and recorded over the years by different music publishers with different musicians. The idea for it belongs to producer Ivan Minchev.
Many famous instrumentalists feature in the album: Rumen Toskov, Jivko Petrov, Dimitar Bodurov, Hristo Yotsov, Stoyan Yankulov, Jens Duppe, Mihail Ivanov, Peyo Peev, Angel Dimitrov, Hristiyan Tsvyatkov, Ivan Georgiev, Genadii Rashkov, Haig Yazdjian, Ivan Shopov, Matt Darriau, Brad Shepik, Rufus Cappadocia and Sofia Soloists Chamber Orchestra with conductor Plamen Djurov.
The album was mastered by Ivan Shopov, also known as Cooh or Balkansky.
The famous Theodosii Spassov quintet will take the stage. Its members are Theodosii Spassov (kaval, vocals), Peyo Peev (gadulka), Ivan Georgiev (bagpipe), Hristiyan Tsvyatkov (guitar) and Genadii Rashkov (percussion).
The fans will be asked to present green certificates or negative test results (PCR or antigen) upon entry.
