Health Crisis, Political Instability Disrupt Bulgaria's Investment Climate, Germany Trade and Invest Reports
Sofia, December 15 (BTA) - The health crisis and political instability are disrupting the investment climate and inflation is reducing consumption, Germany Trade and Invest (GTAI) reported in a publication about the economic outlook of Bulgaria in December 2021, quoted by the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce in its bulletin Bulgarien Aktuell, received by BTA on Wednesday.
Bulgaria's economy is slowly recovering from the recession, according to GTAI. Deferred public and private investment has a negative impact on GDP development.
The European Commission is concerned about the stalemate in important reforms and investment projects, the GTAI said, noting that it was the result of a political crisis that has been going on since the spring, with two failed attempts to form a regular government. Observers such as the Bulgarian business publication Investor expect that after the third parliamentary elections in 2021 on November 14, a stable government can be formed to deal with the necessary reforms.
