Kaval Player Theodosii Spassov Launches First Song Album
Sofia, December 17 (BTA) - "I'm already a singer too, you know!" world-famous kaval player Theodosii Spassov said at the launch of his first song album, "Theodosii Spassov Sings", which took place at Sofia Live Club on December 16.
The album features nine songs of different styles, performed and recorded over the years in different music publications and with different bands. The accompanying musicians include Rumen Toskov, Zhivko Petrov, Dimitar Bodurov, Hristo Yotsov, Stoyan Yankoulov, Jens Duppe, Mihail Ivanov, Peyo Peev, Angel Dimitrov, Hristian Tsvyatkov, Ivan Georgiev, Genadii Rashkov, Haig Yazdjian, Ivan Shopov, Matt Darriau, Brad Shepik, Rufus Cappadocia, as well as the Sofia Soloists Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Plamen Djurov.
In between the songs, Spassov shared with his devoted fans some anecdotes from his eventful career, including his trip to Antarctica. Two of the pieces composed in the icy wilderness were also on the programme.
The famous Theodosii Spassov Folk Quintet also took the stage: Theodosii Spassov (kaval, vocals), Peyo Peev (gadulka), Ivan Georgiev (bagpipe), Hristiyan Tsvyatkov (guitar), and Genadii Rashkov (percussion).
The musicians alternated between vocal and instrumental pieces, including items from the album.
