Bulgarian Liliana Zafirova Receives Award for Nationalities from Hungarian Prime Minister Orban

December 19 (BTA) - On December 17, 2021, on the eve
of the Day of Nationalities in Hungary, Prime Minister Viktor
Orban presented the prestigious Award for Nationalities to
Bulgarian Liliana Zafirova Budy Gezane, BTA learnt from Gabriela
 Hadjikostova of the "Bulgarian News" ("Bolgar Hirek") magazine.

The award is conferred to prominent members of nationalities for
 services in culture, education, science and religion.

Zafirova graduated from a choreography school in Sofia, after
which she directed the first children's folk dance ensemble at
the Young Pioneers Palace. She is well-known in Bulgaria and
Hungary, as well as in Montreal, New York, Vienna and Brno.

She is married in Hungary, where she has been living since 1965.
 There, she set up the Martenica and Zdravec dance ensembles,
and later on founded and became a chief artistic director of the
 Zornica Bulgarian Heritage Preservation Ensemble in Budapest.
