COVID-19 Update: 1,463 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 5.63%
Sofia, December 23 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 730,140, after 25,998 tests identified 1,463 new infections on Wednesday, of whom 77.51 per cent are unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 5.63 per cent.
The active cases are 95,970. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 4,241, including 493 in intensive care. Of the 410 new hospital admissions, 85.61 per cent are not vaccinated.
Another 1,305 COVID-19 patients recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 603,811.
56 fatalities were reported (94.64 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 30,359.
With 16,502 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 3,638,288 vaccine doses have been administered so far and 1,890,723 people are fully vaccinated, and 244,321 have received a booster jab.

The 14-day notification rate shows that 12 out of Bulgaria's 28 regions are in the orange zone and Kardzhali Region is in the green zone, the National Centre of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases said. The 14-day cumulative COVID-19 case notification rate is 298 cases per 100,000 population.
