Sofia, December 31 (BTA) - A man who threatened to blow himself up was arrested in central Sofia on Friday night, the Interior Ministry said. The incident occurred near the central bank building during a light show organized by City Hall to celebrate the New Year.

The man from the southern town of Asenovgrad was railing against mask-wearing and COVID vaccines. He took out a grenade but the police brought him under control.

A flack jacket and other weapons were found in the man's car later on. His wife was also arrested. DD
