COVID-19 Update: 2,810 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 9.2%
January 1 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 747,108, after 30,593 tests identified 2,810 new infections on Friday, 75.05 per cent of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 9.2 per cent.
Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 836 positive tests, followed by Burgas Region with 339 and Varna Region with 242.
The active cases are 103,758. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 4,022, including 457 in intensive care. Of the 385 hospital admissions, 84.68 per cent were not vaccinated.
Another 566 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 612,395.
Sixty-five fatalities were reported (93.85 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 30,955.
With 3,609 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 3,700,660 vaccine doses have been administered so far and 1,914,910 people are fully vaccinated, and 275,053 have received a booster jab.
