COVID-19 Update: 1,076 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 14.5%
Sofia, January 2 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 748,184, after 7,429 tests identified 1,076 newly infected persons on Saturday, of whom 75.09 per cent are unvaccinated, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 14.5 per cent.
The active cases are 104,692. Currently, the hospitalized patients number
4,059, including 449 in intensive care. Of the 144 new hospital admissions,
84.03 per cent are not vaccinated.
Another 114 COVID patients recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 612,509.
Twenty-eight fatalities were reported (96.43 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 30,983.
Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 361 positive tests, followed by Burgas Region with 166 and Varna Region with 115.
With 446 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 3,701,105 vaccine
doses have been administered so far, 1,914,966 people are fully
vaccinated, and 275,398 have received a booster jab. DD
