Health Minister Serbezova Terminates Procedure for Purchasing COVID-19 Tests for Students
January 11 (BTA) - Minister of Health Asena Serbezova has terminated the ongoing procedure for purchasing some 12.5 million non-invasive COVID-19 tests for students, the Health Ministry said in a press release here on Tuesday.
The move comes following an investigation of the Internal Audit Directorate, requested by Serbezova. The auditors have found irregularities in the way the purchase procedure was organized.
All documents related to the case will be submitted to the Counter-corruption and Unlawfully Acquired Assets Forfeiture Commission.
The Health Ministry said that it will organize a new public procurement to purchase the necessary quantity of COVID-19 test for students, while providing maximum transparency. Health Ministry representatives will be among the members of the commission which will review the offers.
