COVID-19 Update: 7,034 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 17.76%
January 14 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 806,977, after 39,590 tests identified 7,034 new infections on Thursday, 74.61 per cent of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 17.76 per cent.
Sofia Region tops the list of new cases with 2,255 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv and Blagoevgrad Regions with 647 cases each and Burgas with 470.
The active cases are 142,472. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,297, including 579 in intensive care. Of the 552 hospital admissions, 82.61 per cent were not vaccinated.
The infected medical staff have reached 18,710.
Another 4,071 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 632,583.
Eighty-four fatalities were reported (95.24 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 31,922.
With 29,683 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 3,971,557 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 1,958,189 people are fully vaccinated, and 475,257 have received a booster jab.
