Bulgargaz Offices Checked by Police, National Security Agency
Sofia, January 14 (BTA) - The National Police and the State Agency for National Security are conducting an operation in offices of public supplier Bulgargaz on Friday. The Interior Ministry said the operation was about the price of natural gas.
The operation is taking place at six offices, including some of private companies in several towns. Various documents have been seized.
Bulgargaz said later on Friday that checks by control bodies, including SANS and the National Police General Directorate, were under way at the company. In its capacity as a public supplier of strategic importance to the country's natural gas market, Bulgargaz is subject to regular audits and other checks by the competent institutions.
"We believe this is necessary and good for strengthening the public's confidence in the company," Bulgargaz said. It views the checks as an opportunity to establish the truth about matters concerning gas prices and supplies.
Bulgargaz is fully cooperative with the control institutions, while continuing its work for the benefit of the State, which is the company's owner, and of the customers and Bulgarian society, the statement said. MT/DD
