Slovakia's Foreign Minister Rewards Bulgarian Scientist
Sofia, January 18 (BTA) - Bulgarian scientist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniela Konstantinova receives the silver plaque of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia, the Slovak embassy here said on Tuesday.
The award for contribution to the promotion and dissemination of Slovak culture will be presented by Ambassador Manuel Korcek. The event will take place on January 25 at the Slovak Embassy.
Daniela Konstantinova is an associate professor at the University of Veliko Tarnovo. Her research interests are in the field of Slavic and Slovak linguistics: lexicology, phraseology, and morphology, linguoculturology and methods of teaching Slovak as a foreign language. She is the author and co-author of many publications, including monographs, textbooks, and teaching aids in Slovak for Bulgarians.
Her latest book, The Grammatical Category of Case, presents the concepts of grammatical case in Bulgarian and Slovak linguistics. The author analyses in detail the case system of the modern Slovak language and gives many examples, accompanied by translation and interpretations in Bulgarian.
In a recent interview for BTA, Assoc. Prof. Konstantinova presented her view on the presence of cases in the Bulgarian language, how they hinder the study of a foreign language, the interest in Slovak, what is the interest of Slovaks in Bulgarian and why it is useful to know another Slavic language.
