January 18 (BTA special correspondent Ivan Lazarov) - The Prime Ministers of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia, Kiril Petkov and Dimitar Kovacevski, were the first guests of BTA's press club in Skopje on Tuesday. The club will be officially unveiled on February 4.
Kovacevski said the club's opening is an important step in building trust between the two countries and their citizens.
Petkov wished BTA "very successful work and very accurate news coverage".
BTA Director General Kiril Valchev called on the prime ministers for health protocols easing the movement of journalists across the border, similarly to ministers, truck drivers and pilots, as freedom of information is no less important than the movement of goods.
MIA Director General Dragan Antonovski, who was also among the guests of the club, wished the successful cooperation between the two news agencies to continue.
The two prime ministers received as a gift The Symbols of Bulgaria edition, prepared by a staff member of BTA's Reference Library, a phototype edition of the Miladinov brothers' Bulgarian Folk Songs, as well as issues of BTA's LIK magazine./DS/
