Bulgarian Opera Prima Krassimira Stoyanova to Perform Thursday at Graz Musikverein
Sofia, January 19 (BTA) - Bulgarian soprano Krassimira Stoyanova, whose name has become synonymous with the highest standards in operatic art, will give a concert at the Musikverein in Graz, Austria, on Thursday. World-renowned pianist Helmut Deutsch will accompany her in her first performance for 2022, which features works by Alban Berg, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, and Sergei Rachmaninoff.
Born in Veliko Tarnovo, North Central Bulgaria, Krassimira Stoyanova studied violin at the Conservatory in Sofia and singing and violin at the Plovdiv Music Academy and made her professional debut in 1995 at the Sofia National Opera House. Since 1998, she has had a close relationship with the Vienna State Opera which launched her into stardom and sent her performing in the world's leading opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden London, Teatro alla Scala di Milano, the Bastille Paris, to the State Operas of Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, Dresden, and Zurich. She has performed at Rome's Teatro della Opera, at the Liceu in Barcelona, at the Nederlands Opera in Amsterdam, in Bilbao, Teatro Colon Buenos Aires, and at the New Israeli Opera Tel Aviv. In 2003 the artist made her debut at the Salzburg Festival and has been a regular performer there ever since.
Stoyanova's repertoire covers a wide range of roles from bel canto operas, the great Verdi and Puccini heroines as well as Richard Strauss and the Slavic repertoire.
In 2009 Krassimira Stoyanova was awarded the title of Kammersangerin der Wiener Staatsoper.
