Governments of Bulgaria, North Macedonia Hold Joint Meeting
Sofia, January 25 (BTA) - The governments of Bulgaria and North Macedonia are holding a joint meeting at the Boyana Residence near Sofia Tuesday morning. It is taking place on the second day of an official visit by a government delegation of the Republic of North Macedonia headed by Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski on an invitation by his Bulgarian counterpart Kiril Petkov.
The agenda includes a one-on-one session of the two Prime Ministers. There will be a plenary meeting of the two official government delegations. Simultaneous sessions will be held of four working groups, which have been established in the areas of economy, trade and innovation; infrastructure, connectivity and transport; European cooperation - green transition and digital transformation, and the rule of law; culture, research and education and youth. The co-chairpersons of the joint multidisciplinary commission on history and education will also be meeting.
At the end of the day, the two governments will sign bilateral documents and the Prime Ministers will hold a joint news conference.
Dimitar Kovacevski will also be received by President Rumen Radev and meet with National Assembly Chair Nikola Minchev later in the day.
The two countries are trying to revitalize bilateral relations and address sticking points that have been blocking the EU accession process for Skopje.
