Sofia, January 27 (BTA) - Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev had a working meeting with chair of the Group of the European People's Party in the European Parliament Manfred Weber, the prosecution service said on Thursday.
     
The meeting was part of the working visit of the Prosecutor General to Brussels.       

Ivan Geshev stressed the leading role of the prosecution in Bulgaria's progress in combating organized crime and corruption, as well as in establishing the rule of law and European values.   

The Prosecutor General stressed the commitment of the Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office to uphold the independence of the judiciary, and its readiness to continue the judicial reform to ensure the protection of the rule of law and the rights of citizens in the country.
