Trips of Bulgarians Abroad Up 104.5% in December 2021, Y/Y
January 28 (BTA) - In December 2021, in the conditions of the continuing epidemic situation, the number of trips of
Bulgarian residents abroad was 551,000, increasing by 104.5 per cent, compared to the same month of 2020, the National Statistical Institute said here on Friday.
In December 2021, the number of foreign arrivals was 475,100, increasing by 92.4 per cent, compared to December 2020, as the transit was 54.2 per cent (257,700) of all visits of foreigners in this country.
Out of all foreigners who visited Bulgaria last month, 41.9 per cent were EU nationals (199,000 visitors), the biggest share of whom from Romania (38.4 per cent), Greece (22.8 per cent), and Germany (10.1 per cent). Nationals of other European countries accounted for 48.9 per cent of all visits to Bulgaria, the biggest share of whom from Turkey - 55.5 per cent (129,000 visitors).
In December 2021, the relative share of visits by purpose was as follows: for other purposes - 61.4 per cent, for with holiday and recreation - 25 per cent, and for business - 13.6 per cent.
