Sofia, February 1 (BTA) - Bulgarian Defence Minister Stefan Yanev conferred with Ukrainian Ambassador in Sofia Vitalii Moskalenko here on Tuesday, Yanev's Ministry said in a press release. Bilateral defence relations, the prospects for strengthening cooperation in military technologies and topical issues concerning security in the region topped the agenda of the meeting.

Moskalenko thanked for the support for his country that Bulgaria has invariably declared and upheld. He highlighted the traditionally good level of dialogue and bilateral cooperation in defence. Potential areas for pursuit of cooperation in military technology were outlined as well.

Current security issues were stressed during the talks. "The Bulgarian Government is doing what is possible for reaching a diplomatic solution to the current situation and regulating relations among all countries in the region," Yanev said. He added that, as a Black Sea country, Bulgaria is interested in the harmonious development of the economies, cultures, and social contacts between the countries in the region. VE/NZ/LG
