Bulgarian News Agency Press Club in Skopje to Open on 150th Gotse Delchev Birth Anniversary
Sofia, February 2 (BTA) - The Bulgarian News Agency's (BTA) Press Club in Skopje will be inaugurated on February 4, the birthday of revolutionary Gotse Delchev, BTA Director General Kiril Valchev said at the presentation of the initiatives of the National Academic and Public Committee for the marking of the 150th birth anniversary of Gotse Delchev, held at BTA's Press Club in Sofia on Wednesday.
The event in North Macedonia's capital is scheduled to take place at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 4. The choice of this date makes BTA a participant in the celebrations marking the anniversary.
Bulgarian and local media are invited to attend, Valchev said. He noted that Bulgarian Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska and parliamentary Committee on Culture and Media Chair Toshko Yordanov are also expected to participate. Valchev recalled that the Press Club's first guests, while it was still in the process of preparation, were Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov and his Macedonian counterpart Dimitar Kovachevski.
Vasil Nikolov of the National Archaeological Institute with Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Co-chair of the National Committee to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Gotse Delchev, said that the opening of the press club was a good initiative in such a context.
