Government and President's Office Are Bulgaria's Team, PM Says
Sofia, February 3 (BTA) - Commenting recent criticism by President Rumen Radev against the government, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said on the Bulgarian National Television Thursday that the criticism "are function of what the President believes is best for Bulgaria's interests". "I believe that the team the government and the President's office are in, is Bulgaria's team", he said.
The Prime Minister thus dismissed comments, mostly by the opposition parties, that recent comments the President made, putting to question steps by the government regarding relations with Skopje and recent changes in the top echelons of the energy sector, indicated a deep rift between the President and Prime Minister.
Petkov said that "any differences in policies is exactly where the role of the separation of powers is".
He added that the President and himself have a shared interest: wanting the best for Bulgaria.
