Bulgaria Has Submitted to EC Its Recovery and Resilience National Plan
Sofia, February 4 (BTA) - Bulgaria has submitted to the European Commission its Recovery and Resilience National Plan, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said during Question Time in Parliament. He was asked about that by MP Tomislav Donchev , who was deputy prime minister in the GERB government.
According to Petkov, the European Commission hails the revisions that Sofia made in the national plan in the energy sector.
Bulgaria is heavily dependnt on Russian gas supplies and on the production of its Kozloduy N-plant, and the NATO-Russia tension create a risk for gas supplies, said the Prime Minister. "The plan that we inherited included a combined cycle power plant, which would have aggravated the dependence on these supplies. The new government cannot accept this kind of dependence and we had to revise the plan and make sure we have a more independent and greener energy sector. We managed to do that in a very short period of time. I am happy to say that the European Commission welcomes these revisions and we are waiting for the final result now," said Petkov.
The plan is yet to be put up for public consultation, said also the Prime Minister. LN/
