February 4 (BTA) - A total of 8,142 new COVID cases were established in Bulgaria after 37,006 tests on Thursday, according to the latest update of the national coronavirus information platform,  https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 22 per cent. 75.60 per cent of the new cases are unvaccinated.

The active cases are 257,488. It adds up to a total of 980,402 who have been diagnozed with coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.

Currently, the hospitalized patients number 6,124, including 568 in intensive care. Of the 863 new hospital admissions, 85.40 per cent were not vaccinated.

Ninety-six fatalities were reported (88.54 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 33,588.

Another 5,980 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 689,326.

With 10,084 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,192,273 vaccine doses have been administered so far. LN
