February 4 (BTA) - Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov conferred with visiting Austrian Federal Minister for the EU and Constitution, Karoline Edtstadler, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry reported here on Friday. Rashkov introduced Edtstadler to the measures Bulgaria is taking to handle the migration pressure.

The two sides discussed possibilities for deepening and expanding the relations between Bulgaria and Austria in areas of mutual interest, and the current migration situation in Europe.

Among the other topics discussed between Rashkov and Edtstadler was the necessity of shared pan-European responsibility in migration management.

On behalf of Austria, Edtstadler expressed high appreciation to Bulgaria for guaranteeing the EU external border security.
