Sofia, February 5 (BTA) - Bulgarian Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska donated a mobile mammography unit to the oncology department of the hospital in the town of Negotino, North Macedonia, the Foreign Ministry said Saturday. The donation comes as part of a project which aims to reduce breast cancer deaths among women in North Macedonia through boosting early detection rates.

The Bulgarian government allocated approximately 139,000 euro for the purchase of the mobile mammography unit.

Genchovska was accompanied on her visit to the hospital by Bulgarian Ambassador Angel Angelov, MP Toshko Yordanov, Deputy Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova and BTA Director General Kiril Valchev, among others.
