Melnik 2015 Wine Fest Gathers Connoisseurs for The Fourth Time

Melnik, Southwestern Bulgaria, February 5 (BTA) - For the fourth
 year in a row the festival of the celebrated Melnik red wine
will attract connoisseurs from Bulgaria and abroad in the
smallest town in this country, the organisers said. The fest is
scheduled for February 7 and 8.

 It is dedicated to the day of the patron saint of gardeners and
 winegrowers, St. Tryphon, and it is believed that the more wine
 is drunk and spilled in honour of the feast the richer the
harvest of grapes will be.

 Besides tasting the celebrated local red wine and dishes, the
festival will also feature folklore elements and ritual vine
pruning, as well as a competition for the best homemade
wine-maker.
