Brussels/Sofia, February 27 (BTA) - Bulgarian President Rosen
Plevneliev Thursday conferred with European Council President
Donald Tusk, Plevneliev's press secretary said on Friday.
Plevneliev is on a two-day working visit to Brussels which
started on February 26.
Plevneliev and Tusk concurred that the changed situation in
Europe required from the EU member states to be united and speak
one language in championing the European principles and values.
The two stressed that finding a lasting political solution to
the conflict in Ukraine requires strict implementation of the
Minsk agreements.
Plevneliev is quoted as saying that the European integration is
a driving force for reforms and democratic development of the
countries in Southeast Europe. He said that Europe changes the
entire region in a positive way.
Concerning the Schengen border-free area, the Bulgarian head of
State once again noted that Bulgaria has met the technical
requirements for accession to it and voiced a hope that this
would be recognized by all EU member states.
Plevneliev and Tusk also discussed the European Energy Union and
its importance for achieving energy diversification and
