International Stars to Teach
Young Musicians
at Music Campus Balchik
Balchik, on the Black Sea, April 15 (BTA) - International stars
will teach young talented musicians during a second installment
of Music Campus Balchik in the Bulgarian seaside town in
September, the Swiss association, Music by the Border, told a
news conference earlier this week. Based in Thun, central
Switzerland, the association is co-organizing the event together
with the administration of Balchik Palace.
Candidates will be auditioned in Sofia on June 22. Violinists
Alexandru Gavrilovici and Marie Trottmann from Switzerland and
Cigdem Iyicil from Turkey, instrumentalists from Romania's
Arcadia Quartet and Bulgarian slide-trombonist Stanislav
Pochekanski will be among the teachers at Music Campus Balchik,
said Jasmina Stalder, President of Music by the Border.
Stalder is a Bulgarian who has worked in Switzerland for years,
enlisting support for young talent in the arts. She recalled
that the first installment of Music Campus Balchik involved more
than 50 instrumentalists from seven countries. LI/VE
