in Sofia on April 23
Sofia, April 20 (BTA) - "Pandora," a chamber opera with dance by
the Arabesque Ballet Company, will have its world premiere at
Sofia's National Music Theatre on April 23.
The music for the show, composed by Paul van Brugge (the
Netherlands) and Peter Doundakov (Bulgaria), will be played live
by the Sofia Soloists Chamber Orchestra under the baton of
Plamen Djourov, featuring Tsvetana Bandalovska (a Sofia Opera
House soloist) and Evelina Hristova and Daniela Dimitrova (from
the famous choir, The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices).
"Pandora" is a Bulgarian-Dutch co-production. The libretto and
lyrics were written by Berto Reijnders and translated from Dutch
by Dimiter Kabakov. The choreography is by Boryana Sechanova.
The production is part of Arabesque's concept for cooperation
between Bulgarian and foreign artists in the field of
contemporary dance, music and the visual arts. This is one of
the company's most daring projects of the last 10 years. It is
supported by the Performing Arts Fund NL, Sofia City Hall, the
Bulgarian Ministry of Culture and the Credi Arte production
